Cn. Lentulus Clodianus, 88 BC. Denarius (Silver, 17 mm, 3.68 g, 12 h), Rome. Helmeted bust of Mars to right, seen from behind, wearing balteus, holding parazonium over his right shoulder and vertical spear over his left. Rev. Victory driving fast biga to right, holding wreath in her right hand and reins in her left. Babelon (Cornelia) 1. Crawford 345/1. RBW 1312. Sydenham 702. Beautifully toned. Struck from somewhat worn dies. Good very fine.
